Aligned to NHS (Procurement, Slavery & Human Trafficking) Regulations 2025·PPN 009·Procurement Act 2023·NHS Standard Contract 2025/26

Statutory duty
NHS Procurement Regulations 2025
All organisations procuring for the health service must now assess and mitigate modern slavery risk across their supply chain under s.12ZC NHS Act 2006.
Mandatory exclusion
Procurement Act 2023
In force February 2025. Modern Slavery Act offences are now grounds for mandatory exclusion from all public sector procurements. No exceptions.
Policy requirement
PPN 009 — Government Supply Chains
All central government and NHS supply chains must identify modern slavery risks and implement due diligence processes. Applies to your suppliers too.
April 2026 deadline
NHS Evergreen Assessment
NHS England requires all suppliers to reach Level 1 of the Evergreen Sustainable Supplier Assessment by April 2026. Modern slavery controls are a core requirement.
The problem

Supplying the NHS just got more demanding.

SMEs rarely have dedicated compliance teams. But the legislation doesn't care. Every NHS supplier is now expected to assess and document their supply chain's modern slavery risk.

01
The legislation is already in force
The NHS (Procurement, Slavery and Human Trafficking) Regulations 2025 are not coming — they are here. Every new NHS procurement must now include risk assessment and mitigation of modern slavery across the supply chain. Your buyers are already asking.
"Public bodies will require suppliers to review and improve their practices in accordance with these regulations." — DHSC
02
A consultant audit costs £500–2,000 per supplier
For an SME with 10–25 suppliers, a professionally managed supply chain audit can cost £5,000–£50,000. Most SMEs simply absorb the compliance risk instead. This tool replaces that audit for £295, total.
"Specific attention should be given to the proportionality of the requirements when applying them to SMEs." — NHS England guidance
03
Non-compliance costs contracts, not just marks
Under the Procurement Act 2023, modern slavery offences are grounds for mandatory exclusion from public procurements. Failing to demonstrate supply chain assurance is no longer a tender weakness — it can end your eligibility entirely.
"The Procurement Act makes certain Modern Slavery Act offences grounds for mandatory exclusion of suppliers." — PPN 009

How it works

Three steps. Complete supply chain picture.

The tool runs entirely in your web browser — no installation, no cloud, no login. Download once. Use forever.

1
Create & send assessments
Type the supplier's name and click Create. A personalised assessment file downloads instantly, pre-labelled with their name and a unique UKRPSS reference number. Email it to your supplier as an attachment. The supplier opens it in any web browser, completes 52 questions across 7 sections and clicks "Export for Dashboard" to generate a small response file.
2
Load the responses
When the supplier emails back their response file, drag and drop it onto the tool's Load Responses page. The response is matched to the supplier automatically using their reference number. You can load responses from multiple suppliers and build up a complete picture of your supply chain over time.
3
Review the risk dashboard
The Risk Dashboard shows every supplier's score and accreditation level alongside a full section-by-section heatmap. Red and amber flags identify which suppliers need urgent attention and in which specific areas. Use the dashboard as evidence of your supply chain assurance process in tenders, NHS contracts and regulatory audits.

Bronze
52–92
points out of 208
Basic awareness. Policy may exist but governance, due diligence and supply chain mapping are limited. Improvement plan required before major NHS contract submissions.
Silver
93–134
points out of 208
Good foundation. Documented policies, supplier screening and some training in place. Suitable for many contracts but gaps remain in due diligence and measurement.
Gold
135–174
points out of 208
Strong controls. Board-level accountability, risk-based audits, whistleblowing routes and KPI measurement. Suitable for most public sector frameworks and NHS contracts.
Platinum
175–208
points out of 208
Industry-leading. Continuous monitoring, independent assurance, public transparency and evidenced year-on-year improvement. Sets the benchmark for responsible supply chain management.
